Melanie H. Pagette, M.D. Is a board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a true Austinite and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Premedicine with a minor in Spanish from the University of Nevada-Reno, and obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Medical School. During her time in medical school in 1986, she married Denis Pagette, from Quebec, Canada. She then completed a residency program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and had her two daughters, Christina and Caroline. The family moved to Florence, SC where Dr. Pagette had a successful practice for 12 and a half years. She decided to move back to her home state of Texas in 2006. Her hobbies include: swimming, cooking, and photography. Her family has a dog, a guinea pig, and assorted fish. Tessa Cervantes, M.D. is a native Texan, originally from the Rio Grande Valley. She graduated cum laude from University of Texas at Austin, and was a recipient of the Terry Foundation scholarship. She completed medical school, internship in Internal Medicine, and a Dermatology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and has volunteered at the Camp Dermadillo. She is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Cervantes’ interests include skin cancer prevention and treatment, adult and pediatric medical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. Elsa Briones, M.D. was born in San Antonio and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Dulles High School in Stafford and then received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Dr. Brieno attended medical school at the University of Texas at Houston and then completed her pediatric residency in Austin at Brackenridge Hospital. From there she entered private practice in Austin where she has enjoyed being part of the lives of many families for the last 18 years.Dr. Brieno's volunteer opportunities have included working with the Volunteer Health Clinic for 9 years, as well as working with the International Medical Corp in a Macedonian refugee camp after the Kosovo war during the summer of 1999. Nancy G. Marquez, M.D. FACS is a native Texan from El Paso. She graduated with highest honors in psychology and chemistry from the University of Texas at El Paso, and earned her Medical Degree from Baylor Medical School in Houston. She completed her surgical residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She then served as an assistant professor in surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She currently is in private practice with Capital Surgeons Group, and has been in private practice since 1994. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She is also a clinical professor for Texas A & M University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She employs the DaVinci robot for many of her laparoscopic procedures, and also uses the latest technology for minimally invasive procedures of the breast. She has two children and enjoys the country life with her dogs, horses, and chickens. She is an exercise enthusiast, and enjoys running, cycling, working out at the gym, and horseback riding. Ricardo Solis, M.D. began his private practice in Austin in 2002. He received his B.A. degree in Biology in 1990 from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. After completing his Residency at Staten Island University, Staten Island, New York in 2000, he went on to the University of Texas – Houston where he completed his Fellowship in 2001. Dr. Solis is Board Certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Solis enjoys UT athletics, cycling, volleyball and poker. Rodolfo Alamía, M.D. Is a family physician who is also a co-founder and past President of the Hispanic Physicians Association. He graduated from the University of Texas Pharmacy School at Austin in 1973 and graduated from medical school at Michigan State University at Lansing in 1979. Dr. Alamia completed his residency in Family Practice in Corpus Christi, Texas and is frequently found spending his time working in the local Hispanic community on health issues or learning about classical history and collecting calaveras.His practice is located at 1221 Ben White Blvd. , #212B (512) 443-8500.
Francisco Cárdinas, M.D. A native of Laredo, Dr. Frank Cardenas received his degree from the University of Texas at Austin. This was followed by Medical School at the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) where he obtained his Degree in Medicine. He then completed training in Internal Medicine from the Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine affiliate Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a Fellowship in Nephrology from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He practiced Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Longview, Texas until his retirement in 2006. Since then he moved to Austin and has been doing Consulting work in his Specialty.
